Live the Lagoon Life

After more than two decades as one of Houston’s largest and most successful developers, Land Tejas has embarked on its most ambitious concept to date — developing the first-ever amenity by Crystal Lagoons® that offers a combination of resident beaches, retail and daily-fee access. This 100-acre paradise village in Lago Mar will include several white sand beaches and aquatic attractions for the whole family.

Crystal Lagoons® Amenity Coming Soon!

Texas' Largest Lagoon

Phase One of the Lago Mar Lagoon complex is now open. This first section is designed for resident access, featuring white sand beaches and a resident clubhouse. Future phases are planned to include multiple beaches, a floating obstacle course, a swim-up bar, a 10,000-square-foot beach club with cabana pool and a mega entertainment facility that will host live concerts, corporate outings, weddings and private functions.

This is Land Tejas’ second Crystal Lagoons® amenity. The company opened the first Crystal Lagoons® amenity in Texas last year in its Balmoral community.

FAQs

What is Crystal Lagoons® patented technology?
Crystal Lagoons® is the world’s leader in water innovation and technology, which transforms any corner of the world into an idyllic beach paradise. It is an international company with offices around the world that has developed and patented a state-of-the-art technology that enables crystal clear bodies of water of unlimited sizes to be built and maintained, offering an idyllic beach lifestyle anywhere in the world while using minimal amounts of chemicals and energy. Crystal Lagoons has more than 600 projects in different phases of development, planning, construction and operation.
How does it work?
Crystal Lagoons’ technology applies an efficient filtration system that uses only 2 percent of the energy consumed by conventional swimming pool centralized filtration systems. Crystal Lagoons’ patented solution is to apply additives and different ultrasonic waves to the water in the lagoon, which enable the contaminant particles to be agglomerated into larger particles that are later removed from the lagoon. This means that only a small portion of the total water volume needs to be filtered. Also, as the filtered flow is up to 300 times lower than for conventional systems, the whole filtration system is smaller, decreasing installation requirements in terms of pumps and filter sizes.
Are there many chemicals in the crystal clear lagoon?
Crystal Lagoons’ patented solution is to apply controlled pulses of very small quantities of oxidants/micro-biocides to the water in the lagoon, according to the growth cycles of algae and bacteria, in very specific patterns based on algorithms. In so doing, it is not necessary to maintain a high and permanent level of disinfection the way a conventional swimming pool does. The results of this efficient system are that it enables up to 100 times less additives (source: Crystal Lagoons US Corp) to be used than are used in conventional swimming pool and drinking water treatment technologies, all of which reduces excessive expense on chemicals and further environmental damage. The application of additives is coordinated by strategically located injectors and sensors. This operation is managed online by the Crystal Lagoons Control Center in real time.
How is the water quality of the crystal clear lagoon controlled?
The hydraulic and mechanical systems are monitored, controlled, and operated remotely by Crystal Lagoons from their control center. This enables Crystal Lagoons to ensure that water quality is maintained within their established parameters, guaranteeing high quality regardless of the location of the crystal clear lagoon.
How much water does a crystal clear lagoon use?
The technology in every crystal clear lagoon enables low water consumption, using as little as 30 times less water than a golf course and 50 percent less water than is required by a city park of the same size.
Is it safe to swim in a crystal clear lagoon?
The water in a crystal clear lagoon fully complies with the most stringent international physicochemical and microbiological water quality standards. The water quality is also monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by specially designed systems and sensors that continually report specific physicochemical and other water quality parameters through a proprietary telemetry platform, managed and operated through the cloud by the Crystal Lagoons Control Center. All the different mechanical and hydraulic systems operating in the lagoons around the world are also activated and controlled from the control center, allowing for constant monitoring and operation of the lagoons, to ensure excellent water quality all year round.
When will the Lago Mar crystal clear lagoon be open?
The Lago Mar crystal clear lagoon is open all year round. It will be closed two days a week for maintenance. Please see the Lago Mar lifestyle director for specific dates and times of operation.
Is the Lago Mar crystal clear lagoon for residents only?
No, the Lago Mar lagoon will have public access. However, a large portion will be for resident access with private white sand beaches and a clubhouse.
What amenities will be included in the public portion of the Lago Mar crystal lagoon?
Current plans for the public access portion call for multiple beaches, a floating obstacle course, a swim-up bar, a 10,000-square-foot beach club with cabana pool and the Treasure Island complex with a two-story building that can host corporate and other events. Tortuga Beach will be the largest beach on the lagoon and will be able to accommodate approximately 2,000 people per day.
How big is the Lago Mar crystal clear lagoon?
